“Explore my vision through your personal interpretation and perception”

Gigi Crisa was born and raised on the Sicilian Island of Italy. He is a contemporary artist working with the medias of acrylic, oil, water color, and ink.

He currently lives and works in Santa Barbara, California.

Gigi Crisa went to the I Liceo Artistico of Palermo, Sicily where he studied the history of art, and experimented and trained with different artistic techniques. His artwork is a fusion of bright and bold colors genuinely inspired by the Mediterranean together with an inquietude of shapes and figures, a constant prerogative in the way of self expression. Some of the pieces were inspired and are the product of dreams, others a colorful narrative of everyday stories, yet ultimately an instinct or the creative impulsivity to vent with hues the deep subconscious of the mind.

Punk Pride Women by Gigi Crisa
Punk Pride Women
By: Gigi Crisa
Acrylic and Ink on canvas
24" x 36"
$3,000

Pride to be Punk, to be out of the ordinary, the way to be different and fearless of a society ready to judge and persecute who doesn’t appear to be “normal”.

The Punk Pride Women painting by Gig Crisa wants to contain the energy of the reaction to bigotry and blindness indifference in which we navigate these times.

The colorful shapes of a free soul, the courage of a person capable to change the word standing in their own universe.

Gigi started working on this painting during the dawn of Covid pandemic and the events following the killing of George Floyd, in an historic period of violence, ambiguity, and uncertain circumstances.

Punk Pride Women is a figure that materialized in front of the canvas with the provocative intention to be rebellious, unique and pride.

Punk Pride Women is the way to be yourself and different in a world always on edge.

Nicole Delesalle
Nicole Delesalle
By: Nicole Delesalle

Nicole Delesalle was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. The daughter of an architect and painter, she was exposed to the arts from an early age and has always practiced and pursued the arts in various mediums. After studying fine arts and philosophy at the University of British Columbia, Delesalle honed her craft and gained new ways of thinking by studying the expressionist and cubist abstract movements.

She attributes her early interest in abstract expressionism to her studies of artists including Pablo Picasso, Willem de Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Jackson Pollock, and Franz Kline, among others. Delesalle creates works that portray the underlying messages of her subconscious mind, free from influences and conformity, akin to that which can only be found in the most native state of the mind’s eye.

Always having a passion for creative endeavors, Delesalle completed a successful 12 year career in Real Estate Marketing Management with one of Western Canada’s top Real Estate Development firms, Polygon Homes Ltd. While there, she completed UBC’s Graduate program in Urban Land Economics.

A fall into love changed Delesalle’s life path and brought her to Santa Barbara, California, where she currently resides and works from her home studio. Now happily married and raising three children, Delesalle is able to pursue a painting career as her primary profession and ultimate passion project.

By: Nicole Delesalle
Acrylic, Oil Pastel and Pencil on canvas
36" x 48"
$4,350

"Hazy Days" uses fog colored paint layered over pencil markings to evoke a "haze" or "cloud" hanging over life during the pandemic years of 2020/2021. Delesalle created this piece as a memory of a somewhat diluted daily life, but one that should be remembered and hopefully viewed with positivity and seen here as beautiful when one considers the benefits gained by inner family focus and a slower, simpler life.

"New Life" depicts the underlying process of a painting. The many layers that came before "New Life" create physical dimension and meaning hidden behind the finished piece. The large "delta" shape symbolizes change through progression and purpose. Constantly taking on a new appearance, a rebirth is extracted and new beauty is born through the many acrylic layers finished with oil pastel and pencil markings.

Acrylic, Oil Pastel and Pencil on canvas

In "United Colors" Delesalle uses a multitude of colors blended together as a nod to United Colors of Benetton ad campaigns from the 1980s, where Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani launched a series of ads that were designed to be explicit celebrations of diversity and inclusivity. Delesalle felt that this message was important to portray in the wake of the 2020 George Floyd Protests.

chris gocong
Chris Gocong
By: Chris Gocong

Chris Gocong is a visual artist with a passion for capturing emotion through portraiture, figurative art and abstraction. The main body of his work is inspired by the commonality of human emotion and consciousness. His pursuit in portraiture is less about copying features to reproduce a likeness, but rather trying to capture the multiple emotional layers of the subject.

Although portraiture is his main interest, Chris doesn’t limit himself to one mode—his artistic expression ranges from cosmic abstractionism, exploratory textural pieces, to visually striking pop art and everything in between. At exhibits, viewers often comment that the collection looks as though it was painted by multiple artists rather than one. Looking deeper though, the common theme throughout can be teased out: the human condition.

Chris prefers to paint with acrylic on canvas, as he tends to paint quickly utilizing layers to achieve the desired visual.

Chris was drafted to the NFL from Cal Poly SLO where he studied biomedical engineering. He played 7 years as a linebacker for the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles ’06-’10;Cleveland Browns ’10-‘12). He came to find art as a creative outlet and meditative practice after retiring from football. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife and two daughters.

“Bowie,” painted in an understated black/white palette set against the hot magenta/turquoise neon lightning bolt, makes reference to the celebrity experience: David Bowie the person vs Ziggy Stardust the celebrity icon.
Chris intentionally imbues a longing or almost sad look to Bowie behind the neon mask.

The viewer might draw a comparison between their own inner experience vs the mask presented to the world.

Inga Guzyte
Inga Guzyte
By: Inga Guzyte

The techniques I am using today to construct my sculptural pieces are self-taught. The choice of material to express my intentions is rooted in my early teenage years growing up in Germany, where an unbreakable bond with the street culture of skateboarding was created. Having skateboarding in my life gave me a direction and a new family of friends when I needed them the most. Over the years, I learned to see the potential in old skateboards: old graphics, scrapes, scratches, letters, words, and marks that streets could only give you and stories that streets could only tell you.

My production process is straightforward. At first, I deconstruct the material with a scroll saw into the shapes and colors I need, and then I proceed to inlay every color piece into each other to create a dimensional quality to my work. All colors, scratches and marks are part of the original piece of material and all that is carefully and intentionally selected to be part of every subject I chose to create. Like other artists, I deal with different things in my life, so my personal experiences help me choose the stories I want to tell.

I am attracted to vintage objects which have a patina of history, hinting at the lives of the people who used them to work, manufacture, create and sustain life. The diverse pieces I find all over the USA speak to me and often inform the addition of neon light, which brings them back to reincarnated life.

Although I had very little knowledge of neon light, I was drawn to it - or more accurately led to it on a spiritual path. Neon light is created by combusting gas with electrical charge inside glass tubing. The light created is unique to simply observing a flat ‘color.’ The colors created by neon are alive - they are energy and light created by elements of nature. I am drawn to the ethereal, radiant light of neon. It is the closest thing I have found in our physical world to the light of life and love that radiates from our bodies (some call this our aura).

Each work I create is one-of-a-kind. I use real, ‘old school’ neon (glass tubes that are pumped with various gasses – neon, argon and krypton). My works use solid neon and sometimes beaded neon which is a rarely seen type of neon that makes a chain of little beads of light that travel through the glass tubes.

I enjoy creating pieces that evoke stories from viewers – or simply offer a taste of whimsy, color and light. My career as a director/producer/ playwright has been built around creating and telling stories of the human condition, hope, spiritual journeys, redemption and triumph. I like to think that this same spirit lives in my visual art. I have created commissioned works for private and commercial clients. I have had numerous solo shows and have exhibited in group shows in galleries in Santa Barbara and Palm Springs.

It is exciting to collaborate with visual artists like Chris Gocong and witness how light can evolve and elevate a two-dimensional work into a whole new three-dimensional creation. I look forward to continuing our work together.

Sondheim’s Sunday by Rod Lathim
Sondheim’s Sunday
By: Rod Lathim
French Horn and Neon
$3,000

This work is a marriage of two elements that are etherial, transformational and transcendent: Music and Light. Music, for me, is a spiritual and emotional experience that transports us beyond language and physical barriers. Light, to me, represents energy, life and love. Blending light and music is a magical process. And ultimately, this work is a tribute to Stephen Sondheim who changed the world with his music and artistry. In his beautiful anthem titled “Sunday” from 'Sunday in the Park with George’ the french horn is used to create an inspirational, uplifting and soaring melodious sound that celebrates Sondheim’s love of art and humanity.
